Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16286, dated May 7, 2007, the County Legislature did authorize the County to complete the designs and manage construction and inspection of certain improvements for the City of Kansas City, including the Longview Road Improvements, Projects Nos. 3088 and 3089; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16321, dated June 11, 2007, the County Legislature did authorize a Professional Engineering Agreement with Cook, Flatt & Strobel of Kansas City, MO, to complete Kansas City's design of section 1 of the Longview Road Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has requested that both sections 1 and 2 of this project be re-designed with significant modifications; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16427, dated October 22, 2007, the County Legislature did authorize Cook, Flatt & Strobel to perform new traffic studies of both sections 1 and 2 of the project to verify that the City's requested changes can be accomplished within accepted engineering standards; and,
WHEREAS, a new design agreement which combines both projects is preferred, and upon approval of the new agreement, all previous design agreements will be closed and the remaining $88,044.85 will be credited back to the account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Professional Engineering Agreement with Cook, Flatt & Strobel of Kansas City, MO, for the re-design of the Longview Road Project, sections 1 and 2; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of Finance be and hereby is authorized to encumber $957,686.48, and to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
