Body

WHEREAS, the County has a need for the furnishing of rock salt for de-icing roads and bridges; and,

 

WHEREAS, a total of fourteen (14) solicitations were distributed and two responses were received of which one was determined to be "Non-Responsive". The following one (1)  bid was received:

                     North Olmstead, OH                                                                                    

 

and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve (12) month term and supply contract for the furnishing of rock salt for use by the Road & Bridge Division of the Public Works Department to Cargill Inc., of North Olmstead, OH, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid No. BB200587, as the best and lowest bidder; and,

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount.  The availability of funds for specific purchases is subject to annual appropriations; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make payments, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are available.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
