Title
A RESOLUTION transferring $50,000.00 within the 2003 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Addendum to the Agreement with the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence for the purpose of treating users of illegal drugs, at an additional cost to the County of $50,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14415, dated February 3, 2003, the Jackson County Legislature authorized the COMBAT Commission to contract with the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence, for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug users through a faith-based initiative, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission has recommended the expenditure of anti-drug sales tax funds for this organization in 2004 in the amount of $50,000.00 to assist faith-based organizations to connect with various COMBAT prevention and treatment services; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this agreement, a transfer within the 2003 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2003 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute an addendum to agreement with the NCADD, in the amount of $50,000.00, for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
