A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with FBI National Academy Associates, to assist with the costs of the 2004 FBI National Academy Associates Annual Training Conference to be held in Jackson County, at an actual cost to the County of $10,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and the FBI National Academy Associates desire to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $10,000.00 to FBI National Academy Associates, to be used to assist with the costs of putting on its 2004 Annual Training Conference to be held in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the County support will demonstrate the County's commitment to the continuing education of the law enforcement community and lend assistance to an event that will have a significant economic impact on the community; and,
WHEREAS, execution of this agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
