WHEREAS, former County Executive Frank White Jr. was recalled from his position effective October 9, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to article III, section 4 of the 2018 Jackson County Charter, the Chairman of the Legislature appointed Kay Barnes to serve as temporary County Executive until a subsequent vote of the Legislature to appoint an interim County Executive; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to that same Charter provision, the Legislature shall have thirty days from the date of the certification of the election to select an appointee by a majority vote of the Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature now adopts this Resolution appointing an Interim County Executive to serve until an elected County Executive takes office on January 1, 2027, following the November 3, 2026, general election; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following-named person be and hereby is appointed Jackson County Executive to serve a term expiring on December 31, 2026, pursuant to article III, section 4, of the 2018 Jackson County Charter:

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
