Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit High School Girls Softball team recently won its first state softball title in school history; and,
WHEREAS, Lee's Summit won the Missouri Class 4 state championship game in a 7-1 match-up against Webb City at the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield, MO; and,
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit Tigers softball team is led by Head Coach Tracy Bertoncin and Assistant Coach Lori Buatte; and,
WHEREAS, shortstop Bailey Baird hit two two-run home runs, becoming the only player to ever homer twice in a Missouri state softball championship; and,
WHEREAS, starting pitcher Emily Robinson was on the mound for 16 of the Tigers' 24 wins this season; and,
WHEREAS, the parents and classmates of the Lee's Summit High School Softball players are proud of the team's outstanding showing in the championship game; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates the Lee's Summit High School Girls Softball team on its Missouri Class 4 State Championship win.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
