Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained through an existing fixed price contract and agreement of a federal, state or local government where it is to the County's advantage to buy under that agreement; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on purchases exceeding $5,000.00 under an existing government contract and a transfer of funds is required to enable this purchase; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends that the County use an existing government contract through the Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing (MACPP) Cooperative Fleet Bid with Shawnee Mission Ford of Shawnee, KS for the purchase of two (2) Model Year 2005 Ford Escape vehicles and two (2) Model Year 2005 Ford Explorers at an actual cost to the County of $94,839.00; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase of the two (2) Model Year 2005 Ford Escape vehicles and two (2) Model Year 2005 Ford Explorers at an actual cost to the County of $94,839.00 be made as recommended under the existing government contract with Shawnee Mission Ford of Shawnee, KS, by the Purchasing Director in the total amount not to exceed $94,839.00, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute any documents required to enable the purchase as recommended by the Purchasing Director; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
