Body

 WHEREAS, the Girls Gone Wild (GGW) Bocce team, led by Captain Joy Biscari, has been a formidable force in the American Daughters of Columbus Women’s Bocce League since their inception in 2005; and,

 

WHEREAS, the dedicated members of this team, including Rosetta Guarino, Mary Jo Spino, Michelle Vitale, and Dana Terry, have consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout their years of play; and,

 

WHEREAS, the GGW Bocce team has achieved remarkable success by clinching 1st place in the American Daughters of Columbus Women’s League in the years 2018, 2019, and 2023, showcasing their unwavering commitment to the sport; and,

 

WHEREAS, the GGW Bocce team triumphed in the Aldo Della Croce Bocce Tournament (Women’s bracket) held in St. Louis, Missouri in November of 2019, solidifying their reputation as champions of the game; and,

 

 

WHEREAS, on October 23, 2023, at the American Sons of Columbus Hall in Kansas City, Missouri, the GGW team engaged in a thrilling match against the Spicy Marinaras, ultimately emerging victorious after a fierce battle, showcasing their remarkable resilience and competitive spirit; and,

 

WHEREAS, the American Daughters of Columbus, an auxiliary of the American Sons of Columbus, is dedicated to promoting good government, civic engagement, and community welfare, embodying values that align with the highest ideals of citizenship; and,

 

WHEREAS, this organization is committed to fostering respect for the law, patriotism, and fostering harmony within the community; and,

 

WHEREAS, the American Daughters of Columbus, recognizing the significance of camaraderie and sport, have made the game of bocce a central focus of their social activities, embracing the rich tradition and heritage that it represents; and,

 

WHEREAS, the American Sons and Daughters of Columbus, in their dedication to charitable, educational, cultural, and civic causes, have demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others; now therefore,

 

 

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby commends the Girls Gone Wild Bocce team for their outstanding achievements and extends its heartfelt gratitude to the American Daughters of Columbus for their unwavering dedication to community and the sport of bocce.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
