Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting a subscription to a license plate recognition camera system to enhance its investigative capabilities in locating active “hot file” alerts for passing vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, the system will also aid in gathering valuable intelligence for post-incident investigations of criminal activities; and,
WHEREAS, several cities within Jackson County have implemented the same system, thereby providing the Sheriff’s Office with the opportunity to share and access critical data hosted by the vendor; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and the Purchasing recommend the award of a contract for the furnishing of a subscription for a license plate recognition camera system for use by the Sheriff’s Office to Flock Group, Inc. dba Flock Safety of Atlanta, GA under OMNIA Partners - Region 4 Contract No. R250203, an existing competitively bid government contract; and,
WHEREAS, award under the existing government contract is recommended to take advantage of the discounts offered to larger entities; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
