A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive and the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney to execute an Agreement with Local Union No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters regarding the terms and conditions of employment of members of its bargaining unit within the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.

Body
WHEREAS, by an order dated April, 20, 2001, the Missouri State Board of Mediation certified Local Union No. 42 (hereinafter referred to as the Union) as the bargaining representative for certain assistant prosecuting attorneys within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney, the County, and the Union have concluded their negotiations and recommend approval of the Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that Local 42's membership will approve this Agreement at a meeting to be held on December 2, 2013; and,
WHEREAS, the approval of this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the attached Agreement is authorized to be executed by the County Executive and the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
