WHEREAS, by Resolution 15070, dated June 28, 2004, the County awarded a twenty-four month term and supply contract for the furnishing of uniforms and alterations for use by the Department of Corrections to Alamar Uniforms, of North Kansas City, MO, Galls Inc., of Lexington, KY, and Law Enforcement Equipment Company of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, under the terms and conditions of Electronic Solicitation No. BB200423, as the lowest and best bidders; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing now recommends twelve-month extensions of the contracts with Alamar Uniforms, of North Kansas City, MO, and Galls, Inc., of Lexington, KY, commencing July 7, 2006, and terminating July 6, 2007, under the terms and conditions of Electronic Solicitation No. BB200423; and,
WHEREAS, Law Enforcement Equipment Company of Kansas City, MO, is no longer in business and the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends an award of the items originally awarded to Law Enforcement Equipment Company to Galls, Inc., of Lexington, KY, as the next lowest bid on these items; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extensions be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing , and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the extensions; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts and extensions, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
