Body

WHEREAS, by Resolution 13428, dated November 13, 2000, the Legislature authorized a contract with  County Court Services, Inc., of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of drug treatment services for use by the Jackson County Drug Court; and,

 

WHEREAS, by Resolution 13801, dated August 20, 2001, the Legislature authorized a First Addendum to the contract, increasing the amount by $600,000.00, and extending the term for a period of twelve months; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended an increase to this contract in the amount of $154,000.00, in order to allow County Court Services to continue providing treatment/counseling services to participants of the Jackson County Drug Court program; and,

 

WHEREAS, the attached Second Addendum to Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the Prosecuting Attorney's recommendation in this regard; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer within the 2001 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund is necessary to provide funding for the requested increase; and,

 

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends such transfer; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made within the 2001 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Second Addendum to the Agreement with County Court Services; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments on the Agreement, as amended.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
