Body

WHEREAS, by Resolution 15810, dated March 6, 2006, the Legislature did authorize a Cooperative Agreement with the National Center for Fathering to continue to provide fathering training classes and one-on-one mentoring sessions to participants in the Jackson County Drug Court, at a cost not to exceed $29,200.00 for the period of January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends a three-month extension of the Agreement through March 31, 2007, at no additional cost to the County; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that an extension of this agreement, at no additional cost to the County, is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute an addendum to the contract with the National Center for Fathering in furtherance of the fathering training and mentoring program in conjunction with the Jackson County Drug Court, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
