INTRODUCED BY Bill Petrie, County Legislator

 

Body

WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase Ford automobile manufacturer's original equipment parts for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to provide for their needs for the upcoming five-month period; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends purchases from Independence Lincoln Mercury, Inc., of Independence, Missouri, under the City of Independence's existing Contract No. 235-00-1 (est. $6,000.00) and Metro Ford, Inc., of Independence, MO, under the City of Independence, Missouri's existing Contract No. 235-00-2 (est. $6,000.00); and,

 

WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984 requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriation to the using spending agencies has heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
