Body
WHEREAS, Tammy Brown has served at the Jackson County Election Board for 25 years and conducted over 100 elections; and,
WHEREAS, Governor Bob Holden appointed Brown as a member of the Jackson County Election Board in 2001 and Governor Matt Blunt later appointed her as the Chairwoman of the Board in 2005; and,
WHEREAS, Brown was promoted to become Director of the Jackson County Election Board in 2009 with overwhelming bi-partisan support; and,
WHEREAS, in her tenure, Brown successfully conducted three redistricting cycles after three census completions in the years 2000, 2010 and 2020; and,
WHEREAS, Brown oversaw multiple purchases of election equipment, supervised the expansion of registered voters, and hosted multiple statewide conferences throughout her tenure in public service; and,
WHEREAS, Brown received the Rosemary Plitt Award in 2016 from the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office to recognize her outstanding contributions to election administration; and,
WHEREAS, Brown has diligently served on the Missouri Association of Counties and Election Authorities Legislative Committee for the last 16 years; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature honors Tammy Brown’s retirement and thanks her for her many contributions to Jackson County for the last two decades.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
