A RESOLUTION acknowledging James B. Merritt for the many contributions he has made during his twenty-six years of service with the Jackson County Family Court .

INTRODUCED BY Eugene Standifer, Jr., County Legislator

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, James B. Merritt began employment with the Jackson County Family Court on May 16, 1980; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Merritt has been a dedicated youth worker throughout his tenure with the Family Court, including service with the Haley House program, the Donaldson House program for delinquent offenders, Hilltop, the Donaldson House sex offender program, and, since 2002, has served as the youth worker/transportation officer for field services; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Merritt has also made significant contributions to the Family Court as a seventeen-year veteran CPI instructor, a member of the Children's Emergency Fund and Staff Advisory committees, and supporter of Rotary Camp; and,

 

WHEREAS, he has been recognized for his diligent and committed work ethic as Employee of the Month, has received several Employee Appreciation awards, and has protected the community for twenty-six years through his dedication to safe procedures and work habits; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature acknowledges James B. Merritt for his twenty-six years of service to the community and the Jackson County Family Court and extends sincere appreciation for his commitment to serving as a positive role model to troubled youth in our community.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
