IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION congratulating Myrtle Williamson on her 23 years with Jackson County, Missouri, and wishing her well on her retirement. Intro RESOLUTION # 10729, March 20, 1995 INTRODUCED BY James D. Tindall, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, in March of 1972, Myrtle Williamson was hired by Jackson County to work as a personnel interviewer; and, WHEREAS, subsequently, Myrtle was promoted to the position of testing administrator, with the responsibility of administering tests to applicants; and, WHEREAS, through this position, Myrtle became a friend to many, and is well known throughout the courthouse; and, WHEREAS, she has been described by those who know her as a person with poise and enthusiasm and a source of encouragement and inspiration to others; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle has received numerous certificates of appreciation and recognition from volunteer programs through Pioneer Community College, the Full Employment Council, and the Metropolitan Institute of Community Services; and, WHEREAS, as a strong believer in education, she enhanced her communication skills with awareness training workshops, with emphasis in basic management and problem solving, and utilized these skills by conducting in-house training for supervisors in Jackson County; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle has conducted workshops to assist jail inmates in learning how to complete job applications upon release; and, WHEREAS, she took great pride in the Grub and Grow program, a program initiated in September of 1979 and ending February, 1986, for County employees to enhance awareness of different cultures and increase self-esteem; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle served on the board of directors and the executive board for Prime Health from 1977-1985 and assisted with the plan designs to build the Prime Health stadium location, now known as the Humana Stadium Care Center; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle is the mother of four children, Harold, Natasha, Keith, and Sean, and three wonderful grandchildren, Devin, Kieli, and Jessi; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle deserves the highest degree of praise and recognition for her 23 years of service with Jackson County, as she has truly been an example of what public service is all about; and, WHEREAS, Myrtle will be relocating to Seattle, Washington; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature congratulates Myrtle Williamson on her 23 years with Jackson County, Missouri, and wishes her success and satisfaction in the ventures ahead of her. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
