Body
WHEREAS, the County provides space to the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole's Pre-Trial Serv ces Office in the Community Justice Building; and,
WHEREAS, that space is in need of numerous miscellaneous repairs, including painting, new ceiling ile and new windows; and,
WHEREAS, the Board has advised the County that it has $22,798.00 which it can make available to th County for the purpose of accomplishing these repairs; and,
WHEREAS, the Board's funding must be spent prior to the end of the State's fiscal year, June 30, 1 95; and,
WHEREAS, due to these time constraints, the Acting Director of Building and General Services has s licited informal written proposals for the necessary work and recommends that an emergency contrac be awarded to the lowest and best proposer, Howell Construction Co., Inc., of Kansas City, MO; an ,
WHEREAS, upon the adoption of this ordinance, the County Executive intends to declare an emergency pursuant to
1062. of the Jackson County Code, and award the contract to Howell Construction; and,
WHEREAS, this appropriation is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the cit zens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropria ion be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Grant Fund:
