AN ORDINANCE appropriating $13,000.00 from the fund balance of the 2009 Grant Fund in acceptance of the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiatives grant awarded by the Missouri Office of the State Courts Administrator and extending the contract period through October 31, 2009.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3790, dated July 17, 2006, the Legislature did accept a grant awarded to the Family Court Division by the Office of State Courts Administrator for the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiatives project; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative project is to establish and support detention reform in accordance with juvenile detention alternative initiatives; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of State Courts Administrator has awarded a supplementary grant in the amount of $8,292.00 to the Family Court Division, and has extended the grant period through October 31, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, $4,708.00 of the 2008 grant monies will be carried over by this extension, for a total amount of $13,000.00 under the grant; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the fund balance of the 2009 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:
