Body
WHEREAS, the County and the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards seek to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding regarding Missouri's Prevailing Wage Law; and,
WHEREAS, the parties' intent is to ensure comprehensive and coordinated enforcement of the protections afforded both workers and contractors in the most efficient manner possible; and,
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the mutual agreement between the County and the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards, related to this cooperative effort and prevailing wage laws; and,
WHEREAS, this Memorandum of Understanding is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
