Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19371, dated February 6, 2017, the Legislature did authorize a Cooperative Agreement with Great Plains SPCA of Independence, MO, for the furnishing of a spay and neuter program, at a cost to the County in the amount of $230,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislative Auditor now recommends the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with Great Plains SPCA to provide for an animal transportation program, at an additional cost to the County in the amount of $150,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, said program will enable the County’s animal shelter to partner with agencies throughout the U.S. to transport companion animals that are readily available for adoption to agencies located in less saturated areas of the country; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is needed to place the funds needed for this program in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2017 Health Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County a Cooperative Agreement with Great Plains SPCA in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract...Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
