IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital for the continuation of the "Family Friends - Healthy Tomorrows" program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $40,000.00. Intro RESOLUTION # 11484, October 28, 1996 INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Children's Mercy Hospital's "Family Friends - Healthy Tomorrows" program is an inter-generational model whereby trained volunteers provide a role model for parents through peer support in the critical post treatment stage through visits with the family and children; and, WHEREAS, Children's Mercy Hospital has requested $40,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program through the Department of Health and Human Services; and, WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to a federal grant in the amount of $50,000.00 for this program; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Children's Mercy Hospital for its "Family Friends - Healthy Tomorrows" program; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
