Body
WHEREAS, the Truman High School girls softball team won the Class 4 Missouri State Championship, beating Ozark High School 7 - 0 in the championship game played in Springfield, Missouri, on October 20, 2012; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition to being the Class 4 Missouri State Champions, the Patriots had a 31 - 3 record, were named the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference/Red Division Champions, Class 4 - District 15 Champions, and won three tournament titles; and,
 
WHEREAS, this is the first state softball championship for Truman High School and the first championship banner since the 1981 girls' basketball championship; and,
 
WHEREAS, the team was led by Coach Amy Temples, and Assistant Coaches Steve Broughton and Mandee Berg; and,
 
WHEREAS, the team members are Sara Jeffress, Mashala Tolbert, Emery Staton, Tori Zorich, Emily Davis, Kendra Amos, Maya Coen, Bridgette McAuley, Brooke VunCannon, Kayla Harrell, Paige Parker, Tishina Bradley, Emily VanCompernolle, and Kelsie Broyes; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Truman High School girls' softball team on winning the Class 4 Missouri State Championship and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
