AN ORDINANCE reappropriating $45,000 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti- Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the Chair of the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission to execute an agreement with Renaissance West for the Women in Recovery Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $100,000.

Body
WHEREAS, Renaissance West's Women in Recovery program provides substance abuse treatment for pregnant and postpartum women and allows the women to bring their children into a residential treatment with them to prevent the separation of mothers from their children; and,
WHEREAS, Renaissance West (Women in Recovery) has requested $100,000 to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to federal funds in the amount of $822,614.00 for the Women In Recovery program; and,
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission set aside funds in its 1994 budget for local matches for grants and these funds were not entirely expended in fiscal year 1994; and,
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Renaissance West for the Women in Recovery program; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following reappropriation be made from the 1995 unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti- Drug Sales Tax Fund:
