IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title AN ORDINANCE reappropriating $45,000 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti- Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the Chair of the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission to execute an agreement with Renaissance West for the Women in Recovery Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $100,000. Intro ORDINANCE #2417, May 22, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Renaissance West's Women in Recovery program provides substance abuse treatment for pregnant and postpartum women and allows the women to bring their children into a residential treatment with them to prevent the separation of mothers from their children; and, WHEREAS, Renaissance West (Women in Recovery) has requested $100,000 to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and, WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to federal funds in the amount of $822,614.00 for the Women In Recovery program; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission set aside funds in its 1994 budget for local matches for grants and these funds were not entirely expended in fiscal year 1994; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Renaissance West for the Women in Recovery program; and, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following reappropriation be made from the 1995 unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti- Drug Sales Tax Fund: Department/Division Character Description From To Unappropriated Surplus 45,000 Fiscal Commission Grant Match Grant Match 45,000 Attorney Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
