Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2644, dated March 3, 1997, the Legislature did appropriate $39,551.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Grant Fund to cover the STOP Violence Against Women Grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety and the transfer of matching funds; and,
WHEREAS, since the adoption of Ordinance 2644, the Prosecuting Attorney has been notified by the Department of Public Safety that the local match to this grant, in the amount of $7,638.00, is required to be in cash, and not in-kind, as the Prosecuting Attorney had been led to believe and as had been provided for in the Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney was also notified that an additional $3,000.00 was necessary to meet the grant's requirements and support program operations; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to fund the additional local match and other requirements; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Grant Fund:
