Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Parks + Rec Department recommends the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department related to the maintenance of areas within the County's park system, at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed collaboration with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department is consistent with Jackson County Parks + Rec Department goals to collaborate and work in tandem with surrounding municipalities to improve and maintain the region’s parks, recreational amenities and nature areas, empowering the two systems to work together to provide the most effective stewardship of governmental resources; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of the MOU is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
