RESOLUTION NO. 18940, September 28, 2015

 

INTRODUCED BY Crystal Williams, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner’s Office requires neuropathology consultation services on ten to twenty cases per year, depending on the caseload; and,

 

WHEREAS, as a National Association of Medical Examiners accredited office, the Medical Examiner’s Office is required to provide complete, reliable, reputable, and credible forensic consultation services; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Douglas Miller of the University of Missouri’s University Physicians is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology and is qualified to provide these services to the Medical Examiner’s Office; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.2 of the Jackson County Code 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract with two twelve-months options to extend, for the furnishing of neuropathology consultation services, for use by the Medical Examiner’s Office to The Curators of the University of Missouri on behalf of the University Physicians of Columbia, Missouri, as an acquisition from another government; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
