Body
WHEREAS, various County departments have a continuing need for public safety radios with the features required by the Metropolitan Area Regional Radio System Management Council Technical Committee; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a ten-month term and supply contract with two (2) twelve-month options to extend for public safety radios for use by various County departments to Motorola Solutions, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois under the terms and conditions of Mid-America Regional Council/Kansas City Regional Purchasing Cooperative RFP 113, an existing competitively bid contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends this award
under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the
County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation, with an annual estimated usage of $320,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Interim Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contract to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are available in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
