Body
WHEREAS, Matt Tegenkamp, a senior at Lee's Summit High School, won the Missouri State cross country title in Jefferson City; and,
WHEREAS, Matt won this title in record-setting fashion, with a time of 15:26.67, 13 seconds faster than the course record; and,
WHEREAS, during the season, Matt was able to put approximately one minute between himself and his opponents on three separate occasions; and,
WHEREAS, Matt also came in second out of 400 runners at the Footlocker Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin, qualifying him for Nationals; and,
WHEREAS, Matt was named Rotary Student of the month in Lee's Summit, is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, and a three-year member of Tiger Smart, a club which stands up against drugs, alcohol, and tobacco; and,
WHEREAS, Matt is involved in Student Council and on the B Honor Roll; and,
WHEREAS, Matt is to be commended for representing Lee's Summit High School in his athletic endeavors and for striving for personal excellence; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Matt Tegenkamp upon winning the Missouri State cross country championship and wishes him success in all future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
