Body
WHEREAS, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church has long served as a cornerstone for faith, community, and education in Kansas City, providing a nurturing, environment for students to grow academically and spiritually; and,
WHEREAS, the class of 1965 Yearbook Club at Redemptorist Church holds a special place in history for its unique composition of all Latina members, who made significant contributions to documenting the spirit and achievements of their classmates during a time when Latino representation in such roles was uncommon; and,
WHEREAS, these remarkable women, Cathy Zuniga-Findlay, Rita Garcia-Hendershot, Rachel Rodriguez-Avila, Mary Lou Cervantes-Nunez, Henri Solis-Lujan, Linda Reyes, Lucy Padilla, Gloria Guerra-Delgado, and Margie Gonzalez-Abarca, exemplified leadership, creativity, and dedication as members of the Yearbook Club, leaving a legacy at their school and inspiring future generations of students; and,
WHEREAS, the contributions of these women are a testament to the strength, determination, and cultural pride of the Latino community, and their legacy continues to inspire young women of all backgrounds to take on leadership roles in their schools and community; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County honors and celebrates Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church Class of 1965 Yearbook Club and the trailblazing Latinas who served in it, recognizing their contributions to the school and the broader Latino community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that this resolution stands as a tribute to Cathy Zuniga-Findlay, Rita Garcia-Hendershot, Rachel Rodriguez-Avila, Mary Lou Cervantes-Nunez, Henri Solis-Lujan, Linda Reyes, Lucy Padilla, Gloria Guerra-Delgado, and Margie Gonzalez-Abarca for their pioneering spirit and lasting impact on both their school and community.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
