A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the City of Independence, Missouri, for the use of certain County property for a civic event, at no cost to the County.

Body

 WHEREAS, the City of Independence has requested the use of certain County property located within Independence city limits, specifically identified as the parking lot located at West Kansas Avenue and Osage Street in Independence; and,

 

WHEREAS, the parking lot will be used for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event scheduled for April 26, 2025; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends the execution of an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement for this purpose with specific contingencies including a certificate of liability insurance and restoration of the parking lot to its original condition (free of debris and in good repair) no later than 7:00 a.m. on Monday April 28, 2025 following the event; and,

 

WHEREAS, such an agreement is in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

 

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the City of Independence at no cost to the County, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
