Body
WHEREAS, Victor Hogstrom joined KCPT Channel 19 as its President and CEO on August 1, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hogstrom received a B.A. in Mass Communications, a B.A. in International Relations, and an M.A. in Mass Communications from Brigham Young University; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hogstrom began his career in 1973 working as a producer, anchor and reporter for KBYU-TV in Provo, Utah; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hogstrom's public broadcasting career has included Producer/Anchor/ Reporter of KBYU-TV/FM in Provo, UT; Director of News and Public Affairs and later Assistant General Manager of WSRE-TV in Pensacola, FL; General Manager/Program Manager of WPTI-TV in Rockford, IL; General Manager of KIXE-TV in Redding, CA; and President and CEO of WTCI-TV in Chattanooga, TN; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure with KIXE-TV the station increased membership 256%, viewership 175% and opened a state-of-the-art, debt-free building; and,
WHEREAS, in Chattanooga, TN, Mr. Hogstrom served on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, the Chattanooga Family & Children's Services, the Arts & Education Council, the Leadership Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Association; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hogstrom brings to Kansas City and KCPT Channel 19 a long-running career of success and dedication; and he will provide the same hard work and passion to the people of this community as he has bestowed at every previous station; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature welcomes Victor Hogstrom to Kansas City and KCPT Channel 19 and wishes him success in his new job.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
