Body
WHEREAS, Jeff Diekmann, Lee's Summit North High School teacher and head baseball coach, was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame January 19, 2013, at a banquet held in Jefferson City; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff began his coaching career in Lee's Summit in 1982, became head coach at Lee's Summit High School in 1986, and became head coach at Lee's Summit North High School when it opened in 1996; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff is a four-time conference Coach of the Year winner, having compiled a win-loss record of 383 - 270; and
WHEREAS, Jeff has led his teams to five conference championships, three district championships, two sectional championships, and one quarterfinal championship; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff is a graduate of Lee's Summit High School, played baseball at the University of Kansas from 1977 to 1980, graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 1981 with a degree in Speech Pathology and a minor in business, and in 1989 received his Master's in Education - Curriculum and Instruction; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff was one of three members inducted into the Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the only inductee from the metropolitan Kansas City area; and,
WHEREAS, Jeff's wife Susan, daughter Mackenzie, and sons Tucker and Gannon are justifiably proud of his accomplishments; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Jeff Diekmann upon his induction into the Missouri State High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and extends best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
