Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to award a contract for the furnishing of outgoing mail services for use by the Office Services Department; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve (12) Month Term & Supply Contract for the furnishing of Outgoing Mail Services for use by the Office Services Department from Mail Solutions, Inc. of North Kansas City, MO. under the terms and conditions set forth in an existing government contract with the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri under RFP No. 20-04; and,
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 1064.0 of the Jackson County Code, 1984 the Director of Purchasing requests approval by the Legislature of this service which provides a discounted mailing cost to the County. The Director of Purchasing has determined that the per piece discount available under the Circuit Court contract is greater than could be achieved by a County bid due to the higher volume of the Court's contract and he recommends that the award be made under the following contract:

and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will be determined as each using department places its order; and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the award under the existing government contract be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
