Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office recommends a Cooperative Agreement with Michael Toombs of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, to serve as the manager for the New Start Program, at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,000.12; and,
 
WHEREAS, the New Start Program will serve youths who are at risk of receiving a felony conviction on their record and will provide life skill classes for the participants, focusing on decision-making, problem-solving, team-building, coping skills, self-discover, change and conflict resolution, preparing the future, confidence building, and anger management; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Toombs will serve as the project manager, conducting monthly classes and serving as a mentor to the youth participants, for the period of February 1, 2012 through September 30, 2012; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, MO, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with Michael Toombs at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,000.12, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
