AN ORDINANCE exempting the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Sheriff's Department and three vacant Park Ranger positions in the Parks and Recreation Department from application and effect of Ordinance #3642 passed by the Legislature on July 11, 2005.

ORDINANCE # 3649,    July 19, 2005

Body

WHEREAS, the County Legislature has adopted and duly passed Ordinance # 3642 eliminating all open positions within County government except for those positions agreed upon by the Department Heads and the County Executive; and,

 

WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety the Legislature recognizes that the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Sheriff's Department and three Park Ranger positions in the Park's and Recreation Department should be exempted from the effect and application of Ordinance 3642; now therefore,

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that all open positions within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, all open positions within the Sheriff's Department and three open Park Ranger positions within the Parks and Recreation Department are hereby exempt from application of Ordinance 3642; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Ordinance # 3642 shall be applicable solely to County positions not specifically exempted by this Ordinance.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
