IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Prosecuting Attorney to execute an Agreement with Genesis School for a program entitled "Genesis Communications," with a local match from the County not to exceed $72,314.00. Intro RESOLUTION #10790, April 24, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of the sales tax for seven (7) years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and, WHEREAS, the Legislature authorized local matching funds through Ordinance 2373 to government and private grants; and, WHEREAS, Genesis School has received grants from the Division of Alcohol and Drug, Hall Family Foundation, Jack & Helyn Miller Foundation, General Mills, Charno Foundation, Cray Foundation, and Red Friday Event, in the aggregate amount of $289,250, for the school's "Genesis Communications" program; and, WHEREAS, Genesis School has requested matching funds in the amount of $72,314.00 to implement its program; and, WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends funding in the amount of $72,314.00; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with Genesis School; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
