A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with DeLaSalle Education Center for its Middle School Center program to provide a local match to a local government grant, in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the DeLaSalle Middle School Center program provides a small group educational setting designed to meet the learning and developmental needs of at-risk youth; and,
WHEREAS, DeLaSalle has been awarded a grant in the amount of $708,705.00, by the Kansas City, Missouri School District; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $550,205.00; and,
WHEREAS, DeLaSalle has requested that the County provide $50,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to provide a portion of the required match for this program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement with DeLaSalle Middle School Center; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
