Body
WHEREAS, Summit Lakes Junior High School eighth grade girls' basketball and volleyball teams both recently received the Outstanding Scholarship Award for academic achievement from the Missouri State High School Activities Association; and,
WHEREAS, the award is the association's top scholarship award given for academic achievement; and,
WHEREAS, during the first semester of the school year, the basketball team maintained a cumulative 3.58 grade point average and the volleyball team maintained a cumulative 3.48 grade point average; and,
WHEREAS, while "in season" both teams maintained grade point averages between 3.25-4.0 by a team effort - everyone doing her part; and,
WHEREAS, basketball team members are: Meghan Ehlinger, Carmen Titus, Jamie Picerno, Whitney Sharp, Amber Armanees, Laura Owens, Alex Gutierrez, Mandy Martens, Aubree Brattin, Ofelia Giannakopoulos, Jonel Henning, Alison Dennis, Lauren Richardson, Megan Stayton, Jenna Rogers, Megan White, Jenny Blekeberg, Abi Schurder, Jenny Bass, and Shannon Edgmon; managers Jamie McComb, Amanda Pfeiffer and Rachel Alsup; head coach Julie Ferguson and assistant coach Rachel Stone; and,
WHEREAS, volleyball team members are: Carissa Schindel, Mandie Reinke, Katie Dziedzic, Heather Skowronski, Jonel Henning, Sam Brattin, Beckee Brattin, Heather Wohlleber, Amanda Mencl, Jamie McComb, Mandy Martens, Alex Phillips, Whitney Sharp, Shayla Kelley, Meghan Ehlinger, Alison Dennis, Amber Armanees, Megan Stayton, Kristin Fletcher, Jenny Bass, Abi Schurder, Jenny Blekeberg, Megan White, and Lauren Scanlon; managers Adrienne Harmon and Aubree Brattin; head coach Julie Ferguson and assistant coach Todd Fenske; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Summit Lakes Junior High School eighth grade girls' basketball and volleyball team members upon receiving the Missouri State High School Activities Association's top scholarship award for academic achievement.
