Body
WHEREAS, § 730 of the Jackson County Code requires all officers and employees of the County to be residents of Jackson County, Missouri, and sets forth procedures for the waiver of same by the County Legislature in the case of non-merit employees; and,
WHEREAS, Michael P. Shanahan, Officer in Charge has requested a waiver of said residency requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Enforcement Task Force has set forth facts tending to show that it would be in the best interest of the County if a waiver of the residency requirement were to be granted; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature does hereby waive the residency requirement of non-merit employee Michael P. Shanahan based upon the best interests of Jackson County for one-year from the date of adoption of this Resolution.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
