Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Noel Torpey was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 52nd District in eastern Jackson County; and,
 
WHEREAS, Noel campaigned for bringing jobs to Missouri, for standing up for our children to ensure a proper education, for limiting government waste, and for tax policies that help families; and,
 
WHEREAS, Noel has a Bachelor's of Social Science in Political Science from Graceland University and served as an assistant on the legislative team for U.S. Senator Charles Grassley; and,
 
WHEREAS, Noel is a member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce, Independence Kiwanis Club and the Independence School Board Advisory Committee, and is a Youth Friends volunteer; and,
 
WHEREAS, Noel is a small business owner and a former social worker assisting at-risk families; and,
WHEREAS, Noel is supported in his public service endeavors by his wife, Julie, and sons Hayden and Dawson; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Noel Torpey on his election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 52nd District, and wishes him much success in the future.
