AN ORDINANCE amending the districts established by the Jackson County Zoning Order by changing from A (Agricultural) to LI (Light Industrial), a certain 5 + acre tract, and to RR (Residential Ranchette) District, a certain 5 + acre tract.

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri as follows:
Section 1. The Zoning Order of Jackson County, Missouri, and the official maps which are a part thereof, are amended by changing the boundaries of the "A" (Agricultural) District and the "LI" (Light Industrial) District and "RR" (Residential Ranchette) District, so that there will be transferred from District A to Districts LI and to RO a tract of land described as follows:
DESCRIPTION: A 10 ± acre tract of land generally located 1/4 of a mile south of U.S. Highway 50, east of Missouri 7 Highway and west of Lone Jack-Lee's Summit Road and more specifically described in attachment to RLA.
5 Acres to Light Industrial
ALL THAT PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 17, TOWNSHIP 47, RANGE 30, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
THE WEST 5 ACRES OF THE SOUTH 10 ACRES OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TRACT:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID SECTION 17; THENCE SOUTH 20 CHAINS, THENCE EAST 16.59 CHAINS TO THE WEST LINE OF COUNTY ROAD, THENCE N26°50'W, 21.60 CHAINS, THENCE WEST 75 CHAINS TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, EXCEPT THAT PART IN ROADS.
5 Acres to Residential [and Office] Ranchette
ALL THAT PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 17, TOWNSHIP 47, RANGE 30, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
THE EAST 5 ACRES OF THE SOUTH 10 ACRES OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TRACT:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID SECTION 17; THENCE SOUTH 20 CHAINS, THENCE EAST 16.59 CHAINS TO THE WEST LINE OF COUNTY ROAD, THENCE N26°50'W, 21.60 CHAINS, THENCE WEST 7.5 CHAINS TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, EXCEPT THAT PART IN ROADS.
Section 2. The Legislature, pursuant to the application of C. Doug McLain (RZ-2000-173), requesting the amendment embodied in this ordinance and with notice that the Jackson County Planning Commission unanimously recommended this application regarding the rezoning of the 5 acres to RO but unanimously failed to recommend approval of the rezoning of the west 5 acres to LI, in a public hearing on January 20, 2000, does adopt this ordinance pursuant to the Jackson County Charter authorizing the Legislature to exercise legislative power pertaining to planning and zoning.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
