A RESOLUTION transferring $33,116.78 within the 2004 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Addendum to the Agreement with Pan Educational Institute for the "Night Lights/Sentenced to the Arts" programs, at a cost to the County not to exceed $33,116.78.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3448, dated December 1, 2003, the County accepted a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office's and the Family Court Division's Night Lights/Sentenced to the Arts programs; and,
WHEREAS, under the Night Lights program, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Family Court Division, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, and the Independence, Missouri Police Department have formed a collaborative effort to provide evening and late night supervision to youth who are considered high risk for re-offending; and,
WHEREAS, Pan Educational Institute (PEI) is overseeing and implementing the Sentenced to the Arts program, in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and the City of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, PEI has requested additional funding to allow it to continue its work on this program through September 30, 2004, as is more fully set out in the attached Addendum to Agreement; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary in order to make the requested funding available to PEI; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payments on the Addendum to Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
