AN ORDINANCE transferring $145,000.00 within the 2006 Public Building Corporation Fund, appropriating $290,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2006 Grant Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a modification to a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, in the amount of $145,000.00 in acceptance of a grant administered through the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Division for fabrication of interpretive museum exhibits for the Fort Osage Education Center.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3281, dated August 19, 2002, Ordinance 3390, dated August 4, 2003, Ordinance 3421, dated September 22, 2003, Ordinance 3496 dated May 10, 2004, and Ordinance 3637, dated May 31, 2005, the County has previously accepted grants from the National Park Service for the Fort Osage Education Center Project and executed agreements and prior modifications to agreements regarding this project; and,
WHEREAS, the National Park Service has now awarded the County an additional grant for this project in the amount of $145,000.00, requiring a local match of $145,000.00, for a total additional sum of $290,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, this latest grant provides funding for fabrication of interpretive museum exhibits for the Fort Osage Education Center; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be made:
