A RESOLUTION recognizing James E. Autry for his service to Jackson County, Missouri, and congratulating him upon his retirement.

INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, James E. Autry is retiring after fourteen years of exceptional service to the citizens and community of Jackson County; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure with the County, Jim has held the position of Fiscal Operations Administrator, managing the complex IV-D Program reimbursement, audits, logistical support, and fiscal-related services for the Family Support Division of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and is considered an expert in this area, consulting with and assisting other local offices, committees, and the state office in this field; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim has worked in the child support enforcement arena for twenty years, and also had a seven year career as Fiscal and Administrative Officer for the Missouri Division of Child Support Enforcement's Operation Unit; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim has additionally served the Missouri Child Support Enforcement Association as an officer and member for many years; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim provided twenty-one years of dedicated service, from 1962 to 1983, to our country as a member of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant E-8; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim also serves our community as the Permanent Past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the U.S.A, a fraternal organization whose primary mission is to inculcate the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity, after previous service as the Exalted Ruler; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim has been an integral part of the Family Support Division administration, and has an incomparable willingness to assist other staff and volunteer for special projects, including Harvesters, County Charity Campaigns, and working on Habitat for Humanity homes; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim is the instigator of team-building activities, practical jokes, and potluck dinners, is always there to boost morale or spread cheer, and has always performed his duties with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and dedication; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim has been married to his beautiful wife Dianna K. Turner for 43 years, marrying on February 16, 1965, after meeting at the Poodle Parade Drive In Diner in Urbana, Illinois; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim and Dianna have one son, James Edward Autry, Jr., one daughter, Victoria Renee Kovac, and eight grandchildren, Kevin, Vincent, Claudia, Amanda, Christopher, Katelyn, Camille, and Christian; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and commends James E. Autry upon his retirement from the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, thanks him for his service to this community, and wishes him the best in all future endeavors.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
