Body
WHEREAS, the Lone Jack Fire Protection District is in need of technology improvements to its public safety radios in the form of an upgrade to an 800 MHz radio system; and,
WHEREAS, this Lone Jack Fire Protection District radio upgrade will ensure that their radio system is in line with the rest of Jackson County’s and the other metropolitan areas; and,
WHEREAS, this upgrade will also ensure that the technology is up to date and efficient for years to come; and,
WHEREAS, the inventory will include twenty-eight portable radios, sixteen mobile radios, and ten mobile data terminals mitigating the need for the transfer of 800 MHz radios from the Sheriff’s Office that was previously authorized by Resolution 21373; and,
WHEREAS, the $377,234.00 will be enough funds to replace and upgrade the entire inventory of radios for the District; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the funds needed for this purchase in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to the Lone Jack Fire Protection District in the amount not to exceed $377,234.00 for the upgrade of the Lone Jack Fire Protection District radio system.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
