Body

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited bids on Electronic Solicitation No. BB200534 for the rental of heavy construction equipment for use by the Public Works Department and various other departments; and,

 

WHEREAS, he distributed twelve solicitations and has received three responses thereon; and,

 

WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids submitted, the Purchasing Director recommends the contract be divided and awarded to three vendors so that additional sources of equipment are available when the low bidder does not have the needed equipment; and,

 

WHEREAS, award as recommended would result in estimated awards to the following vendors:

Dean Machinery Co.

Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

 

The Victor L. Phillips Co.

Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

    

and,

 

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate the County to pay any specific amount; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
