WHEREAS, for 22 years, Working Families’ Friend of Greater Kansas City has been a vital resource for working people, providing emergency financial assistance, advocacy, and support to individuals and families facing unexpected hardships; and,
WHEREAS, founded on the principles of solidarity and compassion, Working Families’ Friend served as a bridge between labor unions, businesses, and the community, ensuring that hardworking individuals receive the help they need to overcome personal and financial challenges; and,
WHEREAS, through its partnerships and tireless advocacy, Working Families’ Friend has assisted thousands of individuals with emergency relief, housing support, medical expenses, and job-related challenges, making a profound impact on the lives of working families across the region; and,
WHEREAS, the 22nd Anniversary of Working Familes’ Friend is a testament to its unwavering commitment to uplifting and empowering workers, strengthening the fabric of our community, through acts of generosity, advocacy, and service; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature recognizes the critical role that Working Families’ Friend plays in ensuring that no worker faces hardship alone and applauds its dedication to promoting dignity, stability, and opportunity for all; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby offers congratulations to Working Families’ Friend of Greater Kansas City on its 22nd Anniversary and commends their ongoing mission to support and uplift working families.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
