Body
WHEREAS, the County has need for HVAC renovations at various County locations; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1054.6, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the furnishing of HVAC renovation at various County locations for use by the Facilities Management Department to U.S. Engineering of Kansas City, MO, in an amount not to exceed $297,790.00 for a total amount not to exceed $3,275,692.00, as the best and lowest bidder; and,
WHEREAS, a total of 112 Invitations to Bid were distributed and four (4) responses were received of which one (1) was a "No Bid". The following three (3) bids were received:

and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing further recommends that the County Executive be authorized to execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $297,790.00 as a ten (10%) percent contingency for any unforseen problems that may arise during the performance of this Contract for a total authorized amount not to exceed $3,275,692.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are available.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
