RESOLUTION # 16051,   October 16, 2006

 

INTRODUCED BY                      Dan Tarwater, Fred Arbanas, and Henry C. Rizzo, County Legislators

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the senior citizen population in Grandview is large and the demand for affordable senior housing continues to grow; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) provides funding for proposed housing developments that demonstrate strong community and local governmental support; and,

 

WHEREAS, Trinity Temple Church and Dean Development, LLC, have proposed to the MHDC a joint venture development which will provide affordable senior housing in a 48-unit senior apartment complex; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County that the County support the proposed development; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature supports the proposed development of a 48-unit senior apartment complex in Grandview, Missouri, through a joint venture between Trinity Temple Church and Dean Development, LLC.

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
